I was thinking about my shipping tendencies. I always get more invested in the friendship and famliy dynamics than romantic relationships. I do usually have at least one pairing for most shows that I watch that I like, but they usually aren't my favorite ship in the show.
Heroes:
My favorite dynamic is HRG/Claire. I find their relationship fascinating. That's followed by Peter/Claire. I'm interested in Claire having someone else with powers that she can trust and talk to. I really don't have any romantic ships that I'm into in this show.
Bones:
I really enjoy the sexual tension between Booth and Brennan, but I love their partnership as is. I don't need them to hook up anytime soon. I also want Booth and Hodgins to be BFFs.
Lost:
Jin/Sun are my OTP - I love their backstory and always look forward to their flashbacks. Plus on a shallow note, they are so very pretty. Desmond/Penny are also interesting and their story reminds me of an old love story movie. I root for them too. I could generally care less about "the triangle". Although the TwoP mega-Skate shippers who let it taint the way they see the show annoy the hell out of me (they remind me of the LV fans). And weirdly enough, I find Kate?Jack to be more dark and twisted than Sawyer/Kate. Also I like "jerk" Sawyer much more than "sweet, I like Kate" Sawyer.
One Tree Hill:
My favorite ship - Brooke/Peyton. Those girls have more chemistry together than any of the romantic relationships on this show. It's too bad Schwanny wastes too much of it on the triangle drama. The only other ship I give a care about is Jake/Peyton. But that's not to be, sadly.
Supernatural:
So there are really no romantic ships on this show. Maybe that's part of why I love it so. The family dynamics kick ass. I'm still sad that Papa Winchester is gone though.
Smallville:
Lex/Lana were a perfect fantasy pairing. I still think they are fantastic - Lex loves Lana above anything else and Lana is free to be herself and independent with Lex. But the writers on this show let their obsession with Clark/Lana taint everything. I used to really enjoy the Chloe/Lana friendship, but their scenes are few and far between now.
Greys Anatomy:
I've never really been a fan of either of the mega couples - Derek/Meredith and Burke/Cristina. The only dynamic I was really invested in was the George/Izzie friendship. But Shonda has effectively killed that with her insistence of hooking everyone up with everyone on this show. Which has led to me losing interest and likely not tuning in next season. The fun dynamic of this show has disappeared to be replaced with constant misery and tragedy.
Ugly Betty:
I loved Hilda/Santos/Justin. They could have been the perfect little family - they were so adorable. I think Betty/Henry are cute, but I'm not that invested. If they ever hook Betty up with Daniel I will be beyond annoyed. I love their current dynamic so much. Marc/Amanda are fantastic and always a high point of the episode for me.
The Office: Jim/Pam are my OTP, but not my favorite thing about the show. I still think Pam/Toby would be fun. I love the relationship with Pam/Michael - how she really feels for Michael at times and stands up for him, as well as the Jim/Dwight dynamic. Kelly/Ryan are insane. This show is so beyond ships for me though.
